Platform Updates - Improving the Multi-Action Tool
In April 2020 we improved the selection process of the multi-action tool, which is a mechanism used by On.Board administrators to apply actions to participants in bulk such as adding roles or assigning relationships.
The changes made are as follows...
1. PARTICIPANT SELECTION ACROSS PAGES
The tool displays only 10 participants at a time, which means you sometimes need to move across pages to find the relevant participants. The limitation with the way the tool worked before is that you could only select participants on one page, and if you moved to another page it removed your previous selection. Although you can use filters to refine the search and ‘select all’, it’s not always possible to obtain the exact group you wish to apply an action to.
It is for this reason that we improved the functionality to allow you to select participants across multiple pages and apply actions to them in one go.
For example, if you select four participants from the first page…
and then select two from the second…
You can apply actions to these six selected participants.
2. DESELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS AFTER 'SELECTING ALL'
You can use the ‘select all’ checkbox at the top of the list if you wish to apply an action to all of your participants, or all those that meet the criteria you have defined in the filters. However, you were unable to then deselect participants from the list as they had all be selected.
There may be cases where there are one or two participants who meet the criteria but whom you do not wish to apply the action to. We therefore improved the functionality by allowing you to deselect participants after you have ‘selected all’ to exclude them from the actions.
We hope that these changes will improve the usability of the multi-action tool, saving admins time and making the process easier.
